GST Registration

Everything you need to know before you apply.

Who needs to register

Any business with an aggregate turnover above ₹20 lakh (₹10 lakh in special category states) must register for GST. Certain categories — including inter-state suppliers, e-commerce operators, and casual taxable persons — must register regardless of turnover.

Documents you'll need

PAN card, proof of business constitution, address proof for your place of business, bank account details, and identity and address proof for all promoters or partners.

The application process

Registration is filed online through Form GST REG-01. After OTP verification and document upload, you'll receive an Application Reference Number (ARN) to track your application.

Timeline

Most applications are processed within 7 working days if documents are in order. You'll be notified if additional clarification is needed.

After you're registered

You'll receive a 15-digit GSTIN. From that point, you're required to file periodic returns and issue GST-compliant invoices for every taxable supply.
